STUDYING AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS AND ASSESSMENT OF THE ECOLOGICAL STATUS OF WATER BODIES

The "Ecological Biotechnology" scientific manufacturing center operates in the Oguz han innovative complex of the Oguz han Engineering and Technology university of Turkmenistan, along with other scientific manufacturing centers. At the "Ecological Biotechnology" Scientific Manufacturing Center, which was opened in 2020, under the guidance of the teachers of the Department of Ecology and Ecological Technologies, students conduct scientific research and practical work on solving various ecological problems. One of them is studying aquatic ecosystems and assessment of the ecological status of water bodies.

Phytoplankton, which serves as the main food for fish, is a great wonder. Phytoplanktons are microscopic organisms living in water, single-celled algae, which occupy the first level in the food chain and influence the growth and spread of other organisms. Phytoplanktons usually live in groups. There are about 20 thousand species in one group. They carry out photosynthesis by taking carbon dioxide from the air. Phytoplanktons, like all plants, use the pigment chlorophyll to convert sunlight into food.

Microscopic and spectrophotometric studies of the phytoplanktons of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake were carried out and the ecology of the lake was evaluated.

Currently, scientific research is being carried out at the university using laboratory and spectrophotometric methods of studying phytoplanktons. Determining their species composition and carrying out spectral studies are of great importance in assessing the ecological characteristics of watersheds and the demand for food resources of aquatic ecosystems.
