THE POTENTIAL OF USING EUCHORNIA PLANT IN WASTEWATER TREATMENT IS BEING STUDIED

The "Ecological Biotechnology" scientific manufacturing center operates in the Oguz han innovative complex of the Oguz han Engineering and Technology university of Turkmenistan, along with other scientific manufacturing centers. At the "Ecological Biotechnology" Scientific Manufacturing Center, which was opened in 2020, under the guidance of the teachers of the Department of Ecology and Ecological Technologies, students conduct scientific research and practical work on solving various ecological problems. One of them is the potential of using euchornia plant in wastewater treatment is being studied
Eichhornia crassipes, also known as water lily, belongs to macrophyte plants that grow in water. At the Ecological Biotechnology Scientific Manufacturing Center of the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, the potential of the eichhornia plant to purify the sewage of the Altyn Asyr Turkmen lake was studied and it gave good results. The potential for reusing the treated water in agriculture is great.
Echhornia plant absorbs mineral compounds from salt water through its root system and reduces the salinity level of the water, it also absorbs ions of certain elements in the water, as well as organic and inorganic pollutants.
The conducted studies show that the eichhornia plant can be used to purify the water of Altyn Asyr Turkmen lake and its salt water reservoirs, as well as to purify the sewage and industrial effluents from settlements.
